About CodeLive Studio

A free code playground built on one belief: the fastest way to learn web development is to type code and see it come alive — immediately, with zero setup in the way.

What CodeLive Studio is

CodeLive Studio is an online editor for HTML, CSS and JavaScript with a live preview that updates in about one second. You type code on one side and watch a real browser render it on the other. There is nothing to install, no account to create, and nothing to configure before your first <div> runs. It works on desktop, tablets and phones — on a phone, a floating preview bubble shows your page while you edit.

Why we built it

Most people who want to learn web development quit before writing real code — not because coding is too hard, but because the setup is too tedious. Installing an editor, creating files, wiring up a server: each step is a chance to give up. A playground removes all of it. Our goal is the shortest possible distance between "I have an idea" and "it's running in front of me", with the important extras built in: autocomplete and Emmet for fast typing, a console for debugging, one-click download as a single HTML file or ZIP, and shareable links for asking for help.

What it's for (and what it's not)

CodeLive Studio is ideal for learning, practicing, prototyping small ideas, testing snippets and teaching. It is deliberately a vanilla HTML/CSS/JS tool — no framework build chains. When a project grows to the point where it needs npm packages or dozens of files, the one-click export gives you a clean starting point for a full local development setup. All the code you wrote transfers directly.
