Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of CodeLive Studio. We've kept them short and readable, but they are a binding agreement between you and the site.

Last updated: October 7, 2026

1. Acceptance

By using CodeLive Studio you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. If you are using the site for an organization, you confirm you have authority to accept these terms on its behalf.

2. What the service is

CodeLive Studio is a free, browser-based editor and preview environment for HTML, CSS and JavaScript. It is provided "as is" for learning, prototyping and experimentation. We may change, pause or discontinue any part of the service at any time.

3. Your code is yours

You keep all rights to the code you write. We claim no ownership over it. When you use optional cloud saves, you grant us the limited technical permission needed to store and display that code back to you (and to people you share links with). When you press Share, you understand that anyone with the generated link can access that project.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the site to:

We may remove content and suspend accounts that violate these rules, or that put the service or other users at risk.

5. Accounts

Accounts are optional. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity under your account. We provide no email-based password recovery at this time — losing access to your email may mean losing access to your saves.

6. Availability and data loss

The free service comes with no uptime guarantee. Keep your own backups of important code: use the download feature, and remember that local drafts live in your browser and can be lost if you clear site data. Cloud saves are backups, but you should not rely on them as your only copy of anything important.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CodeLive Studio and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, lost profits, or lost data arising from your use of the service. The service is provided without warranties of any kind, except those that cannot be excluded by law.

8. Third-party content and ads

The site may show advertisements (for example via Google AdSense) and link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for third-party content, policies or practices. Your use of third-party services is governed by their own terms.

9. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; significant changes will update the date above. Questions about these terms? Email support@codelivestudio.com.
