Privacy Policy

We built CodeLive Studio so your code stays yours. This policy explains exactly what data the site stores, why, and the choices you have — in plain language.

Last updated: October 7, 2026

1. Who we are

CodeLive Studio ("we", "the site") is a free online playground for editing and previewing HTML, CSS and JavaScript code in your browser. This policy applies to all pages on this website. If you have any question about it, contact us at support@codelivestudio.com.

2. Code you write stays in your browser

By default, everything you type in the editor is saved using your browser's local storage — a small storage area on your own device. Your code is not uploaded to our servers while you edit, and we cannot read it. Clearing your browser data or using the "New" template menu removes local drafts.

3. Optional account data (cloud saves)

Creating an account is optional. If you choose to sign up, we store:

We do not sell account data, and we do not use it for advertising profiles. To delete your account and its saved data, email us at support@codelivestudio.com and we will remove it within 30 days.

4. Shared projects

When you press Share, the current project is stored on our servers and becomes reachable through an unlisted link containing a random identifier. Anyone with that link can view the project. Only share code you are comfortable making accessible, and never paste passwords, API keys or personal data into shared projects.

5. Cookies

We use the smallest set of cookies that makes features work:

6. Advertising (Google AdSense)

This site may display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or www.aboutads.info. Where required by law (for example, in the EEA and the UK), we request consent before advertising cookies are used, and you can change or withdraw that consent at any time.

7. Analytics and logs

Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) keeps standard security logs (IP address, request time, URL) for a short period to protect the site from abuse. We do not run third-party analytics scripts that build advertising profiles.

8. Children's privacy

The site is a general-audience tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including the EEA, UK and California), you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your personal data. Since almost all data lives in your browser, you can exercise most rights yourself by clearing site data. For account data, email support@codelivestudio.com and we will respond within 30 days.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will update the "last updated" date above. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
